  2. Clearing PIN for apps Cache

As it stands, its possible to have two different PINs, one for apps and one for the device.

However, after speaking with Intune support, it seems that there is no way to re-set the app specific PIN since this PIN is cached on the device which cannot be managed in Intune.

Either you have to re-set the whole device, clear all existing authentications on the phone, this includes touch-id and device PIN, or use the "forgotten PIN" method, which takes several steps to complete.

    1. Resetting the device.
Problematic. If all you need to reset is the PIN.

    2.Resetting all PINs…

  3. Possibiliy to obtain software from company portal, for multiple users

Please add the possibility to obtain software from Company Portal when switching users.
As it is now, only the associated user for the device is able to obtain applications from the portal.
The current workaround is assigning required software.

As this is supposed to be an alternative to ConfigMgr to many customers, this feature is a must!

  4. Win32 app deployment extended customisation and automation

Great start with adding the Win32 deployment type. It’s been long awaited.
If possible, we would also like to see the introduction of some of the maturity we currently enjoy with the SCCM product. Such as, the ability to define and add dependencies, to Supersede applications and the ability to automate the complete setup of a packaged app in Intune, ready for deployment testing.
It would also be great if we could see some improvements made to the “Intune Win32 App Packaging Tool”. The first one would be to change the name and get rid of the term Packaging because…

  5. [Win32] About an error that cannot be distributed to devices when multi-byte characters are included

    Detail:
A distribution error occurred when trying to distribute the batch file specified as install app on Win32

    Batch file name:copy.bat
    App-Package:IntuneWinAppUtil.exe -c c:\app -s copy.bat -o c:\intunewin
    Batch file sample:

    ----------
    echo off
    copy ***.bat "C:\Users\マイクロソフト\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup" /Y
    ----------

As a result of isolation, like the sample above, we found out that an error occurs if the copy command’s folder name contains multi-byte characters.
We hope you to fix this problem and allow using multi-byte characters in Win32 features.

  6. Prevent first Sync of Mailbox without Wifi

    Hello,
if a user set up a new device and is only connected to a metered network it is not very funny when he sync his 50 GB Mailbox to the new device. So it would be awesome if you could configure Outlook that it would only sync the last two weeks or 500 MB in a cellular and when the user is connected via wifi outlook sync the rest.

    Best Regards

  7. Distribute Win32 packages to other tenants as MSP / CSP

We're a CSP provider, one of our services is to manage customers Intune MDM setup.

We now have about 15 Intune customers, and we're growing. A common task is to Win32 package apps that basically everyone needs, like Adobe Reader. This is very time consuming and prone to human errors.

What if we could package and upload Win32 packages to our partner tenant, then from customer tenants add us as a package provider, kind of like how Microsoft Store work today. Then from a customer perspective, all they have to do is add packages from us, then assign as they…

  8. Allow Win32 apps to be deployed to ARM64 (i.e. Surface Pro X) devices via InTune

32bit apps can be installed manually on an ARM64, Windows 10 device - i.e. the Surface Pro X. However, they can't be deployed via InTune as a Win32 packaged app.

This feature request is to allow Win32 apps to be deployed on ARM64, Windows 10 devices so that they can be managed consistently with other Windows 10 devices.

The current workaround is to use a script to deploy the application via InTune. While this approach works, it lacks the additional management features available in InTune for controlling the deployment/management conditions.

  9. Office Suite as dependency

Win32 apps can have and be listed as a dependencies for other applications. The Office ProPlus Suite should be able to be listed as a dependency too for Office addins. Otherwise they don't seem to try installing in the correct order.

  10. Allow deployment of an application config file when deploying software

With Intune in the Classic (Silverlight) portal we were able to 'Include additional files and subfolders from the same folder' when uploading an application to Intune.

This is no longer possible when deploying MSIs to PCs managed via the MDM channel in the Azure portal.

This is important because we would like to be able to deploy centralized configuration files to users' PCs with some of our applications. At the moment we can achieve this by continuing to use the Classic portal, however we are considering migrating to the MDM channel for modern management and it would be painful to…

  11. Win64 app support in Intune

We currently have Win32 which also accepts x64 files within de Intunewin package.

Microsoft does not support x64 packages in an Intunewin package at this moment.

  12. iOS - Make it possible to see which app belongs to which VPP token

Currently it is not possible to see which app belongs to which VPP token. This makes license management a bit tricky when you have more than one VPP token synced in Intune. The risk of assigning the wrong license to the wrong device is very big if you have bought licenses for same app with both VPP accounts.

So please, make it possible to see which app belongs to which VPP token.

  13. When adding an app you need to download an attachment

When adding an app it triggers a download that you have to open to get the upload wizard. That is problem one.

Problem two is that every time you finish adding an app, the window closes and if you want to add another app you have to download and open the same file every time.

Solution: figure out a way to not have an extra download and to add an option for "save and new" so the window doesn't close if you want to add multiple apps.

Very annoying to have to continuously reopen that window.

Asked around on this one and confirmed, we have to have the separate app to upload other apps for security reasons. But it shouldn’t have to download the new app every time, just when there’s been a version change.

If you are using Chrome or Firefox, I’ve been told downloading every time is the default behavior, but you can download the setup.exe and save it, to launch when needed.

If you use IE, it’s supposed to launch off the locally stored cache.

It’s definitely on our list of things we know are painful for customers.

  14. Issues of Microsoft Intune Software Deployment on PC

Microsoft Intune provides Software Installation support, which operates under the system context permission on a managed client.
The Software Deployment works perfect until you have to deploy an application, which required user context permission for the installation. There are many user centric software packages out there, which required this kind of installation permission, like Outlook Add-in, XING Social Connector etc.

You can check with following Outlook Social Connector for XING software package http://outlook.xing.com/index_en.html

As the installation behavior is by design, we can’t suggest Microsoft Intune as a suitable solution, until we have completed a complete assessment of existing software catalog…

  15. Inject SCCM packaged applications into Intune

We should be able to inject SCCM package apps into Intune - in a scenario where the client/customer is transitioning from on-premise to cloud-only. We should be able to inject the applications already packaged into Intune.

  16. Option to not make VPP deployed apps "MDM Manged"

We need an option to deploy volume purchased apps to users without making the App MDM managed. For example if I deploy OneDrive to my users as a VPP app to their BYOD device, there should be an option to not make it MDM managed so the app doesn't get removed on un-enrollment. As it stands now if a user un-enrolls their device any apps we have deployed will get removed which may potentially cause loss of personal data. This is an option AirWatch offers that can be set on the app deployment.

  17. Ability to push out Apps at set time and date

It will be good to have a way to set a time and date for the app deployment. This will help when pushing out new or releasing updates to Enterprise apps on Mobile Devices.

  19. Add a Deployed To (User or Device) column for Intune Apps

After deploying an application in Intune you can review it in the admin console and see if it's deployed or not, however you can not easily see if it's deployed to USERS or DEVICES. You can right click on the column headings and add different columns such as Featured App, how about adding 'Deployed To' as a column heading with USERS or DEVICES or NOTHING as the result.

  20. Ability to mark an app as BETA

It will be good to be able to mark an app as BETA. When an app is marked as BETA, it will show the BETA banner on the app icon in the Company Portal. This will be a good way to differentiate production and beta apps in the Company Portal.
