Apple VPP device targeting, so Apple ID not required
It would be great if you could target volume purchased apps through Apple VPP directly to devices, so that you wouldn't initially need an Apple ID to sign up for the Apple VPP program.
This feature has been added to the admin experience in the new Azure portal, but it will not show up in the Silverlight portal.
We have started the process of migrating the existing Silverlight Intune admin experience onto the Azure portal.
I won’t set this status to “complete” until we’re truly done, but while we are in the process of rolling this out, I don’t want to tie up your votes. I’ve created a new status called “release in progress”, which will close this out for new votes, return your existing votes, but leave this item open for comments. I know everyone wants it ASAP, but it will take a few months to migrate everyone. You will be notified when your tenant is ready for use on the new Azure portal. We appreciate your patience.
(You can also create a new trial tenant to see the feature in preview. Please remember it’s still preview – we won’t call it final until we’ve worked out the bumps.)
Please go vote on the next things you want us to prioritize after the migration to the Azure Portal is complete. Thanks!

We have been able to deploy VPP apps to devices so users can install from company portal BUT we are having problems working out how to reclaim licences back to the pool so we can reuse. It seems like we need to set an uninstall action but it isn't clear.
And you really want people to use intune???
Basic functionality is what is required.. IE Device Based App asignment!!
Also, why can I assign an app to an individual device? I can only assing to a group??
That's just ****!
Airwatch it is then!
Still not in? We're experimenting with deploying apps to a DEP device using VPP bought apps and an apple ID is still required on the device before the app can be downloaded.
I opened a support ticket with intune-support, asking if there is a schedule for tenant migrations regarding hybrid accounts. This was their answer:
There is no set schedule for migrating tenants to the Azure portal. Complex algorithms are being used to pick accounts for migration automatically, so we don’t have a predictable queue. However, for SCCM-Intune Hybrid accounts, they will begin migrating tenants sometime in September (no definitive has been set yet).
I guess we all have to wait a little bit longer....

What is the status of this release?
When will it be release for SCCM/Intune Hybrid
Hi Cathy, can we please have an update on this please ? This is having a impact on our deployment strategy.
Do you already have an idea when it's possible in Intune to provision iOS devices to users with apps throught Apple DEP with VPP without the use for an Apple-ID of the user? We are really waiting for this and I can't really find another source where this feature is being talked about. We already have Intune in the classic portal and we are now being migrated to the azure portal, will this feature be available there?

Seems that this feature still is not available even though the Azure Portal went GA - please update the status and give an update please...

Cathy, Any updates as to when Intune (non-hybrid) will support VPP without the need for AppleID's?
VPP without Apple ID senario supports license assignment to AAD user group?
Managing iOS devices in a classroom/educational environment where devices gets shared between students/classes.
We need a way of deploying iOS apps to DEM enrolled iPad's so that it doesn't prompt users for Apple ID. The devices gets used in a shared classroom environment by different classes so we cannot have Apple ID saved on those devices and we need to be able to push apps out to those devices silently.
Is this possible with Intune?
Any feedback for us Admins that need to manage iOS App Updates under this configuration?
Hybrid customers -- I'm happy to report that this has been added to hybrid in the Configuration Manager 1702 current branch release.

Been waiting months. When will this be released for Intune for 365? I need to be able to push an app to deployed phones before our RSA tokens expire.
I have heard that the feature is being "targeted" for the 1702 release. Obviously that means they won't confirm or deny it, and that it may not be included when the next build ships. So, theoretically, given the historical release of one a quarter, we could see a new build in the next three or four weeks. Given that it isn't specifically mentioned in the 102 release notes for the currently available preview build, it's tough to say, but for my fellow hybrid Engineers out there, there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

Please could one of the admins give us an update on when this will be coming to the hybrid SCCM/Intune environment? We need something more concrete than "coming in the near future", or we may have to change MDM solutions (which as you can imagine is a big deal). Thanks

Just seconding Dustin's question: when will this become available for those of us with hybrid SCCM/InTune deployments? Thanks in advance for your response.
Any other update on when this might be available to SCCM Hybrid setups? I'll take responsibility for not knowing that this wasn't a feature that was yet available, but I'm being tasked with migrating 500+ iOS devices to InTune from Mass360 and none of our users are using Apple IDs to receive app deployments or complete initial enrollments (DEP) on our current MDM, I'm having to shelve the entire project until the capability is released...
Will this support more that one VPP token for support of staff with Apple IDs from multiple different countries?
Hi there, i totally need this function i've got a deployment of over 1500 devices and without the vpp no apple id deployment we would need to create that many apple accounts, needless to say users come and go as well which is another over head on the account management. Please if you have an update on this can you let me know?
