Option under "Volume-Purchased Apps" to deploy to "Device Group"
Please can you add an option under "Volume-Purchased Apps" to deploy to "Device Groups". Currently the only option available is to deploy to "User Groups".
We are trying to use Apple VPP & Intune to deploy apps to iPad devices that are shared across multiple users therefor we must be able to deploy to a device rather than a user. Apple have advised this is now supported on IOS9 and above which is what we are using.

Hi Simon, this is perfectly possible right now. Create a (preferably) dynamic device group and you can Assign VPP apps to it. Once the device appears in the group the apps will be installed. Make sure to assign the app as Device Based licensing.
We are looking to move to Intune from another MDM. We are using device based app assignment via VPP on hundreds of devices. This is an important feature for us to consider moving.

Apple and other MDM solutions cater for this. Disappointing Intune still doesn't.

We are also stuck with this problem. We are waiting for the patch for this!
This would really be helpfull...

intune really needs to support Device Based app assignment via VPP managed distribution. Many use cases do not use individual users i.e. Education. Microsoft needs to support silent app install and assign the license to the device serial number not an Apple ID, since some organizations disable the App Store and Apple IDs. The use of apple IDs in Education and Enterprise has been reduced since iOS 9. Keep up Microsoft.

Intune is currently a no-go for schools that need device app assignment, but we would love to use it too.
