Discontinue all development of Intune
I cant believe in the year 2018, that Microsoft is still using a dead technology called Silverlight as a cloud management platform for its customers end device management. I am almost ashamed to tell other IT administrators I have a client who depends on Intune as the first line of defense on all Computers and Tablets.
There is a great tale out there that migrating to Azure will vastly improve the product. I don't believe this fairy tale.
My suggestion, is to simply build all the functions that Intune is capable of and provide them directly from the Azure portal. In fact, I hope that one day you will figure out how to eliminate two clouds Office 365 and Azure to merge them together as one unified cloud platform that not only suggests the connections to be made, but allows people to make those connections also.
Why in the year 2018 must I install "Client" software to manage a device? Installing the Intune client on devices only keeps Administrators bogged down in unecessary repetative tasks rather than building new skills that will help all of us shape the cloud.
Intune is no longer relevant, can you please just get rid of it? And I dont mean that in a bad way. Look at ATP (Advanced Threat Protection) a simple script turns it on with no software to install and the portal immediatly becomes a useful tool in mitegate any security threats.
The Whole Intune concept was great for a 3rd party, but Microsoft can build fantastic administrative and policy based options right into the main operating system and have the whole thing communicate back to the cloud .
Simply provide us administrators the option to turn on or off what we need directly from the windows "command center" which could sit in the Office 365 or Azure cloud.
Using the new AutoPilot technology for deployment is a great Idea. And see, you dont need Intune. Why do I need an Intune client ? Why do I still need to login to some OLD Silverlight platform which in-itself should be a red flag all over Microsoft Security audits.
Eliminating Intune is such a better way to go. Microsoft has the technology to simply make Intune features a part of the Windows 10 operating system.
And Why did you stop at Windows 10? Seriously, that implies 10th and Windows should be #1. Maybe Windows Cloud or something like that will spin up and our children will be connecting directly to a single unified cloud which is configured per-user as not to overwhelm them with all the power they have with each subscription.
Anyway, In a very positive and logical way, I ask that Intune please be discontinued and spare us administrators so that we can go on to learn the future.
