Android Enterprise Fully Managed Device With Work Profile (COPE)
Would be great to add support for the Fully Managed Device with Work Profile solution set as I am seeing lots of requests for this. Intune is one of the last EMM platforms to support this.

I can confirm that work on this has started and we hope to have a public preview sometime this year. Thanks for your patience!

COPE device settings will change in Android 11. How will this affect existing and new devices managed with Microsoft Intune? More details: https://developer.android.com/work/versions/android-11#work_profile_enhancements_for_company-owned_devices

The current implementation only supports app deployments that are "required." That sucks. We have several Managed Google Play apps (both public and private store) that we want to be available to our Corporate-Owned work profile devices, but we don't want to force them all to be installed.

Feedback: We've tried deploying this (I understand it's in Preview) multiple times and it would appear that when using this enrollment type, it fails to download "Intune Company Portal" (separate from the "Microsoft Intune" app), even if it's a required app. This results in the business apps from not working at all. When switching to "Corporate-owned, fully managed user devices" enrollment type, however, everything works flawlessly and the "Intune Company Portal" app downloads.

Googles Zero Touch enrolment methods is missing from the preview. Really hope this will make its way into the final release.

Airwatch, Mobile Iron and XenMobile support this already since 2018-2019!

COPE is the most desirable feature that's needed in Intune since it's been available as an supported option from Google as they claimed. Please make this happen as soon as possible so both iOS and Android are supported of the similar level via Intune. Thanks.

This is pending support from Google, as Intune relies on the Android Management API (AMAPI) for AE fully managed management.
Keep an eye out on doesintunesupportaecope.info also!

Yes to this! Device admin just isn’t a viable option anymore

With how cutting-edge Microsoft has been with Intune in Azure, I would have thought MS would have been one of the pioneers on this area, I have some 40000+ company devices, which at this time we are having to manage as BYODs as the COPE option is not fully available.

This is the best option from fully managed devices. Many companies offer phone to employees to take home with them. Its not practical to have personal phone and work phone with you, but with COPE. Company can offer a device that has company security, but option to use for personal activity.

I believe many organisations have realised this is what they actually need in the current business and consumer environment - Corporate Owned Personally Enabled. The other existing options in Intune don't allow for this. My organisation needs this, please add it soon.

They implemented COBO, I hope they actually do COPE soon too

Intune was just updated this week (Week of January 7, 2019), but still no public preview available for Android Enterprise fully managed capabilities. Microsoft has previously stated it would be out before the end of the year (2018), and then stated early in the new year (2019) in another blog. I hope it's released soon.

This is the greatest option for companies that provide smartphone to employees, which they can also bring home and use on leisure time (no need for two phones and work phone is always with employee).
That way you can also manage it fully, to have this free access secure as possible.
Legacy is better to be left alone and focuse these features Android Enterprise brings and not be left behind. Some other platforms already have this and its a huge selling point.
