Full phone number for a device is not displayed
When I click on a device profile for a phone under the Groups section, the phone number has the first 6 digits as asterisks.
This causes a major issue with reporting.
There should be no reason the phone number should be hidden. It's not a private piece of information. If you are having your phone joined and managed through InTune, as the administrator, I should be able to know the full phone number of that device so I can actually call the user if there is an issue with their device.
New for April 2016: Phones that are categorized as “Corporate” are now identified with their full phone number when, for example, you run a mobile device inventory report. BYOD phone numbers continue to be masked with ****, with only the last 4 digits displayed..
your link doesn't work & i also cannot see the numbers on mobile devices. can you please add some 'steps' to follow to resolve this... please.

I have same problem, Full phone number for a device is not displayed, my device is marked like corporate
Ability to see full phone number is much needed in highly increasing BYOD ecosystem
You can make it configurable so tenant owner gets to decide whether to show it or not to admins
HI, can anyone help if how many devices intune can covered? Thanks
The phone numbers are still masked out for my Samsung devices! I really need to be able to search by phone number. I came from Airwatch, and Intune has been a disappointment in many of these simple features I took for granted.
this is still not working .. for Samsung devices ... please sort it out
This is STILL not resolved. They don't need to be corporate devices to have the phone number show up. This is INSANE that it is blocked. People are enrolling their phone and agreeing to do it. I can wipe their phone but I can't see their phone number????? I can lock them out of their phone but I can't see the number to call them to tell them that I locked it. Why is it I can see every other piece of information EXCEPT their number.
Come on.....can you folks just please put a damned option to show the full phone number.
The excuse about privacy concerns is garbage. BES (the privacy leader), Cisco Miraki, Airwatch, Mobile Iron.....shall I go on? All of them allow me to see the phone number.
Its easy to do and the reasoning that the engineers give is BS. Just fix this. Its getting extremely annoying to not be able to find a device by the phone number.
I also can't really do corporate devices through DEP as Canadian carriers are money grubbing pieces of **** and charge $20 a device to add it to DEP.
So just fix this already. It really will take the devs all of 5 minutes.
Unless you can give a valid reasoning as to why its blocked and not the excuse that you are doing it for some oppressive country that requires this type of blocking.
Just get it done.
Cathy is this available for Hybrid setup ?
This is really annoying as well. I am trying to use this information in compliance reporting and also to check for a MFA device as well from a 3rd party. Not seeing the phone number in an enrolled device is a really big irritation. Even if a device gets enrolled against a user I cannot ring this device, and I cannot query the phone number against my MFA setup to ensure the device is enrolled and compliant for MFA.
Hi , Thanks for the update .
What do we need to get this work , update the Intune Company portal app on the Device ? or update SCCM ?
I just try it and I am still don't see the full number for Corporate own devices.
In SCCM you can specify device type , Personal or Corporate and I think this is good enough.
Do not mark this completed. It is NOT resolved. Upvote Kellan's comment. Give us the capability to specify if a device is Corporate or Personal.

This is part resolved, it is not fully resolved.
Comment re privacy is an excuse not a valid reason.
This is a step in the right direction and thanks for listening to the user comments.
That still does not resolve the issue. If the user is accepting the terms and conditions and allowing the enrolment to complete through Intune. This should grant full access to find out what their phone number is.
I'm still not understanding where there is a privacy issue. If I can see the IMEI and basically everything else on the device, I should be able to see the phone number for any device that has completed enrolment.
Unless you can show me a way to change the type of device from personal to corporate in the portal, this is not a complete solution.
update please ....
Can I get an update on this? I now need to use Intune to find phone numbers for users and I can do this in BES but not Intune. I really need an option to change this. This is something that is hindering me using Intune at this point as I can't run a report with phone numbers or even see a users phone numbers.
Has this been addressed?
Cathy, the comment that you posted about this being a privacy issue is not really valid as all other MDM solutions out there provide this and I'm not sure why even BES can give me this information and they are all about privacy but Intune can't. This is a needed feature. To be honest the entire reporting need to be overhauled because it provides little to no information.
Cathy - Thank you for providing additional context, but shouldn't this be up to the company that using the software and not the software vender to determine the level of risk and privacy? This would be easily address within Intune by giving the customer the ability to enable or disable full phone numbers.
Since this seems to be of interest, can we get a fix on this? Seems like a simple enough thing to implement.
We are using Meraki MDM System as well as Intune , just because Meraki can Display the telephone Number and the Device name from Samsung and iOS devices .
Why can Intune do the same ?
I don't think this is due to privacy or security , is just a feature Intune must enable for Enterprise Customers .
