Sync Exchange contacts with local device contacts
To allow the use of SMS and caller ID,contacts contained within the Exchange ActiveSync contacts configuration needs to be accessible to the local device, the ability to configure a profile to just allow the synchronizing of contact or the export of contacts from the outlook managed app to the device is necessary. Email access cannot be allowed outside of the managed apps.
So we just started migrating users to MS Intune, and force the use of the iOS app for Outlook but folks lost their contacts and also being able to see who's in the GAL.
Also, from iOS - Phone - Contacts - Groups - Company Global Address List, is showing nothing.
Any suggestions on how to fix this on the back-end?
We are starting to use outlook in our smartphones and this was one the first problems we encountered in our pilot. You should be able to sync them like GMAIL is able to do.

Block contact sync from Outlook app to device (for iOS): New Mobile Application Management (MAM) controls allow you to prevent a user from syncing Outlook contacts to the native address book on iOS devices, and provide you with the ability to remove contacts that have already been saved to the native address book when you perform a selective wipe of the device.
Doesn't this solve this suggestion?
for the end user it is very inconvenient that the dailer app, the carkit, message app (all in the personal profile) can not use the contacts that are stored on the exchange (online) server.
Definitely need this feature for new corporate devices - no default Android mail application means Outlook for Android must be used.
Currently users receive a phone call or text message and do not know who it is - with being able to sync GAL to device contacts this would solve the issue.

When I Configure Exchange on premise Email profile in Outlook App version 2.0.17 managed by Intune it doesn't allow me to reply forward or compose a new email. But it works fine with office 365 account. I have tested with legacy version of Outlook App it is working without any issues.
