    As of the week of Nov 26, 2018, you can remove any app on corporate-owned supervised iOS devices. You can remove any app by targeting either user or device groups with an Uninstall assignment type. For personal or unsupervised iOS devices, you will continue to be able to remove only apps that were installed using Intune.

    Does this fill the request, or do you need to be able to remove apps on personal or unsupervised devices?

    I see this request as;
    - The ability to remove a "managed app" from a device regardless of the assignment.

    This is an option in many EMM solutions, an example would be to present a list of installed applications with the ability to do an individual push/remove actions on a device. (this would be limited to remove applications already installed and push for available/required assignments)

    Hi, if you caught our announcements at Ignite, we announced that we will support device owner mode for Android fully managed corporate devices. It will preview by end of year. Check out our EMS blog for more info

    So we’ll call this “started”. :-)

    Also, we’ve been supporting Android kiosk mode since July.

    Thanks Cathy,

    Will COPE (corporate-owned, personally enabled) also be supported at the same time?

    In December Google announced the continued deprecation of Device Administrator based API's in future Android OS releases. I do not believe this request will get the same number of votes an iOS feature and may not make it into the InTune development cycle's.

    Early development in this area will prevent future device redeployment's while providing a more secure and feature rich Android end-user experience.

    This feature is too important not to include in Intune, most new Android features will come out with Android Enterprise in mind.

    Apple will never allow this, all devices should be purchased under DEP and any remaining can be added using a Provisional DEP process. This process is a kind a proof of ownership. (you have to have access to the device and activation lock to proceed)

    Apple is focusing on user privacy, overtime more MDM features will require supervision to function.
