This should be a feature. Apps needs to be updated and the current behavior makes that painful. There are a few workarounds. Either you deploy the app twice and use custom pre-requistes so that it only installs if it detects that the previous version is already installed or you create a group that is updated via some form of automation whenever a user installs an app. Both are more burdensome than it needs to be.

I don't think this would even be possible. How would it even work?

    Problems:
    1. You're logged in as a single identity so you already have to pick which organization is going to be primary based on that alone.
    2. Each organization can set contradictory settings.
    3. Privacy is a huge problem. I can configure your device to send logs or always-on VPN to my organization but that would now potentially include information from other organizations.
    4. Any one company could wipe the entire device. So you quit working for one company, their staff doesn't know you have a multi-enrolled device and they issue a device wipe. Now you lost data for your other clients. Are you sure you'd want that?

The best that is achievable is if every organization had their own sandbox and the device itself wasn't managed. Essentially just MAM but that's up to each organization to implement and as far as I know no OS supports this so it couldn't be implemented by the Intune team anyway.

The workaround is to pick which who you want to be primary then use web-apps for secondary.

I understand that the choice to disable it may have something to do with account maintenance (e.g. users filling up the entire drive with their OneDrive sync or perhaps the profile delete operation may affect OneDrive data when it starts deleting it). However, we have shared Surface devices for use out in the field. The end-users would like to sync data from SharePoint to the device because once they start their inspections, they're going to be offline. It would be nice if they could leverage OneDrive to make this easy. Otherwise, utility wins over IT convenience so we cannot use Shared PC mode to leverage its benefits.

This is a critical feature to have. Will there ever be a status update for this?

Hi, if you caught our announcements at Ignite, we announced that we will support device owner mode for Android fully managed corporate devices. It will preview by end of year. Check out our EMS blog for more info
    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Enterprise-Mobility-Security/What-s-New-with-Microsoft-Intune-and-System-Center-Configuration/ba-p/262542
So we’ll call this “started”. :-)

Also, we’ve been supporting Android kiosk mode since July.

Would be great if I could pick apps out of my feed and assign the same way I do other mobile apps.

I was just about to suggest this. When I see "6 devices failed" and I click on the UI component of "6 devices failed" it should take me to a table showing me the 6 failed devices and not the entire list--especially an list that I can't even filter or sort--or worse a table with data that doesn't even tell you want failed.

The summary isn't that useful if I can't begin remediation/investigation from it.
