This is the best option from fully managed devices. Many companies offer phone to employees to take home with them. Its not practical to have personal phone and work phone with you, but with COPE. Company can offer a device that has company security, but option to use for personal activity.

They implemented COBO, I hope they actually do COPE soon too

This is the greatest option for companies that provide smartphone to employees, which they can also bring home and use on leisure time (no need for two phones and work phone is always with employee).
That way you can also manage it fully, to have this free access secure as possible.
Legacy is better to be left alone and focuse these features Android Enterprise brings and not be left behind. Some other platforms already have this and its a huge selling point.

I think these votes should be added to https://microsoftintune.uservoice.com/forums/291681-ideas/suggestions/18824362-android-for-work-device-owner-mode
This is a great idea and it seems its already on the way.

Why: Beceause its mainly asking COPE and ofcourse you are doing the enrollment also with KME

We are starting to use outlook in our smartphones and this was one the first problems we encountered in our pilot. You should be able to sync them like GMAIL is able to do.

We have 0365 pilot on the way and some android phones we had to change from native email to outlook and we would like to keep adding outlook from now on in every phone we start to manage. But this is a huge problem for user experience, if exchange cant be synced to native contacts. Of course every co-worker is in exchange, so its kinda not serving the purpose to be unable to see whose calling. These workarounds are not the solution (having gmail exchange, like down below).

Hi, if you caught our announcements at Ignite, we announced that we will support device owner mode for Android fully managed corporate devices. It will preview by end of year. Check out our EMS blog for more info
    https://techcommunity.microsoft.com/t5/Enterprise-Mobility-Security/What-s-New-with-Microsoft-Intune-and-System-Center-Configuration/ba-p/262542
So we’ll call this “started”. :-)

Also, we’ve been supporting Android kiosk mode since July.
