Chances are higher you will migrate faster to a non-proxied environment in your company, than waiting for this feature.

If your IT uses a proxy to keep track "who connects to which external hostnames", then I guess this little party will be soon over, once the world will move to TLS1.3 with ESNI, and your corp office LAN will transform into a simple Starbucks Internet connection.

We also use several profiles, and also move the devices between these deployment profiles for various reasons, using the GroupTag.

I do agree we noticed some slowdowns during Q2 2020, and yes it tooks hours (and yes, sometimes 24 hours), to reflect the new profile in the Autopilot object (then in AAD object).

But since that time, we complained to Intune support, and I have to say I haven't seen much cases where the delay is now longer than 10 to 30 min.

The "sync" button is still a mystery for all of us. It is like in the old days : "doesn't work? then reboot until it works!". Here : "doesn't apply your changes? Then sync until it works!". But I also noticed that "syncing" does not seem to play a role into "applying the recent groupTag change".

So most likely there is no need to have the ability to reassign yourself the deployment profiles when grouptag changed : MS just need to speed up their infrastructures (or queuing mechanisms...).

Such changes should be reflected within max 1 minute in the UI (not 10).

Remember that there are other scenarios like Self-Deploy Autopilot, where you do not enter any creds to enroll the machine.

So without a hash file, how would Intune recognize this hardware?

Also : if you want only to authorize specific machines to enroll to your tenant, how would you deny enrollments for the other ones. Therefore, you need to white-list somehow the allowed ones, prior to the enrollment attempt (imagine you want to deny enrollments of virtual machines for example).

    +1.

At https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/graph/api/intune-devices-manageddevice-get?view=graph-rest-1.0, the documentation says : "This method supports the OData Query Parameters to help customize the response."

When trying, the only odata filter that worked for me is : https://graph.microsoft.com/v1.0/deviceManagement/managedDevices?$select=wiFiMacAddress. Not very useful to perform a query.

But I don't know if that is the right place to post this. Maybe would be smarter in the GraphAPI Uservoice : https://officespdev.uservoice.com/forums/224641-feature-requests-and-feedback/category/101632-microsoft-graph-o365-rest-apis
